[:en]On June 17th and 18th, the final monitoring visit for the LIFE GrIn project took place, ahead of its completion in the upcoming September.
The activities commenced in the “Theotokopoulos” hall of the Vikelaia Municipal Library of Heraklion. Following the welcome addresses by the Mayor of Heraklion, Mr. Kalokairinos, and the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Gialitakis, the deliverables, works, and results of the project were presented. In the afternoon of the same day, a visit was made to the urban green areas of Heraklion, where urban greening projects were implemented to enhance the city’s adaptation to climate change. More than 52,500 predominantly native endemic plants of Crete were planted at the intervention sites.
The monitoring was completed the following day in the Municipality of Maroussi, where the LIFE GrIn team, accompanied by the respective team of the Municipality of Maroussi, visited the sites of the pilot interventions. Subsequently, the results were presented at the Maroussi Town Hall.

[metaslider id=”1677″][:el]Το διήμερο 17 και 18 Ιουνίου πραγματοποιήθηκε η τελική επίσκεψη ελέγχου για το πρόγραμμα LIFE GrIn, ενόψει της ολοκλήρωσής του τον προσεχή Σεπτέμβριο.
Οι εργασίες ξεκίνησαν στην αίθουσα «Θεοτοκόπουλος» της Βικελαίας Δημοτικής Βιβλιοθήκης του Ηρακλείου. Μετά τον χαιρετισμό του Δημάρχου Ηρακλείου κ. Καλοκαιρινού και του Αντιδημάρχου κ. Γιαλιτάκη, παρουσιάστηκαν τα παραδοτέα, τα έργα και τα αποτελέσματα του προγράμματος. Το απόγευμα της ίδιας ημέρας πραγματοποιήθηκε επίσκεψη στους χώρους αστικού πρασίνου του Ηρακλείου, όπου υλοποιήθηκαν τα έργα αστικού πρασίνου με στόχο την ενίσχυση της προσαρμογής της πόλης στην κλιματική αλλαγή. Στα σημεία παρέμβασης φυτεύτηκαν περισσότερα από 52.500 κυρίως αυτοφυή ενδημικά φυτά της Κρήτης.
Ο έλεγχος ολοκληρώθηκε την επόμενη ημέρα στον Δήμο Αμαρουσίου, όπου η ομάδα LIFE GrIn, συνοδευόμενη από την αντίστοιχη ομάδα του Δήμου Αμαρουσίου, επισκέφθηκαν τους χώρους των πιλοτικών παρεμβάσεων. Ακολούθως, τα αποτελέσματα παρουσιάστηκαν στο Δημαρχείο Αμαρουσίου.
