Director HAO Demeter

Dr. Tsagkari Konstantinia is a researcher in the Laboratory of Forest Ecology and Hydrology, of the Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems (HAO Demeter). Currently she is the director of the Institute. The main interests are research field are bioclimatology – forest climatology and climatic changes in forest ecosystems of Greece. Since 1990, in the above subjects  she has participated in 38 Research Projects so far, more specific in  15 European Competing Research   projects, 12 National Competing Research   projects   and  11 National Non – Competing   Research   projects. She  was Scientifically Responsible in 13 Research Projects    (6 European and 12 National) and in the rest she participated as a member of the Research Group. She has more than 150 publications in international and national journals and presentations in international and national conferences.

Dr. George Karetsos is a researcher in the Laboratory of Forest Ecology and Hydrology, of the Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems (HAO Demeter). He has been working since 1985 continuously on terrestrial ecosystems of the island and continental areas, mainly of central and southern Greece. The main interests are phyto-sociology, botany, plant biodiversity, rarely and endangered species, restoration of disrupted ecosystems. He has publications in international and national journals and presentations in international and national conferences.

Dr. Evangelia Avramidou is a researcher in Laboratory of Forest Genetics and Biotechnology, in IMFE, Athens of HAO-Demeter. She is interested in plant genetics biodiversity, plant population genetics and epigenetics. She has worked on DNA markers (SSR, AFLP, SNP, MSAP) applied in population genetic and epigenetic studies in a number of forest and agricultural species. She has published 30 articles in peer review Scientific journals and more than 50 articles in National and International Conferences. She is also a National Focal Point for forest genetic resources for FAO organization.

Nikolaos D. Proutsos

Agricultural Engineer

Nikolaos D. Proutsos is an Agricultural Engineer (BSc), with a MSc degree in Environmental Management and a PhD in Forest Micrometerology. His research interests include agricultural and forest micrometeorology, climatology, plant water requirements and forests restoration. He has worked for the Ministry of Agriculture, Agricultural University of Athens, TEI of Peloponnese, Region of Attika, Cotton Organization etc. His current position is Researcher at HAO “DEMETER”. He has participated in more than 20 National and European research projects and is author of more than 50 papers, published in scientific journals, conferences and books.

Dr. Aimilia Kontogianni

Forester – Environmentalist

Dr. Aimilia Kontogianni is Forester – Environmentalist, with Master degree in Nature Conservation and Forest Landscape and a PhD from the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with specialization in Urban Forestry and Greening. She worked as a lecturer in the Technological Educational Institute of Lamia, and as a researcher in projects with environmental subject. She has published about 20 articles in peer review scientific journals and Conferences. Nowadays, she is a collaborator in the Environmental Management Company HOMEOTECH Co.

Dr Evangelia Korakaki is a Researcher in Laboratory of Tree Physiology in IMFE of HAO Demeter. Her main interests are in studying forest responses to biotic and abiotic factors and environmental changes, emphasizing drought effects in a climate change context. She has about 20, both international and national, scientific publications and more that 20 presentations in international and national conferences.

Dr. Alexandra Solomou is a researcher in Laboratory of Plant Biodiversity in Mediterranean Ecosystems of IMFE, HAO-Demeter. Her interests are focused on the monitoring and evaluation of plant diversity using biodiversity indicators in relation to their exploitation in the sustainable management of Mediterranean ecosystems. She has published 23 articles in International peer reviewed journals and more than 45 article in National and International conferences. She is also a member of the National Committee of Protected Areas “NATURE 2000” and a National Focal Point of FAO organization for Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture.

Dr. Pavlos Simeonidis has a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Master in Information Technology, with Specialization in Software Engineering and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham. He has 20 years of professional experience in the field of information technology, software and programs creation, advising on companies and educational institutions. He has 13 publications in scientific journals and conferences.

Despoina – Maria Vlachaki is Forester – Environmentalist, with Master degree in Nature Protection and Forest Landscape, with specialization in Ecological assessment of the Urban Ecosystem. Nowadays is PhD candidate in Forest Ecosystem Management. Since 2006 she is Project Manager – GIS & Cartography Expert at HOMEOTECH Co. She has 8 publications in scientific journals and conferences.

Lampros Papalampros

Forester – Environmentalist

Lampros Papalampros is Forester – Environmentalist. He has Master degree in Geoinformatics and he is a PhD Candidate in the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, AUTh. Since 2004 he is the head of field surveys at HOMEOTECH Co, where he deals with the organization of surveying and field measurement works, post processing data management and technical reports elaboration and implementation.

Anna Argyroudi

Biologist

Anna Argyroudi is a Biologist graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2007). She holds a Master Diploma in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) of Uppsala (2009). She has been working in HOMEOTECH since 2018 providing consultancy οn issues related with environmental management. Her interests and experience focus on the Management of Protected Areas of Natura 2000 network, Management of Ecosystems under Climate Change, Water Resources Management etc.
