On 18/2/2022, the experiential laboratory for the Postgraduate Program of Agrometeorology of the Agricultural University of Athens was held. It took place in the urban green area Protagoras Park of the Municipality of Maroussi, where a micro-meteorological station has been installed in the framework of the implementation of the European LIFE GrIn Program (LIFE17GIC_GR_000029) for urban green infrastructure.

The participants were informed by Dr A. Solomou Associate Researcher of IMFE, about the LIFE GrIn project (LIFE17GIC_EN_000029), concerning the importance of biodiversity in the urban environment and about the selection and utilization of plant species in urban green areas.

Next, Dr N. Proutsos Associate Researcher of IMFE, presented the way and the principles of operation of the sensors of the meteorological station and the quality of the provided data was evaluated.

Finally, a detailed discussion took place concerning on plant-atmosphere relationships and their interactions with urban areas, with extensive references to how to utilize and use meteorological and climatic information to ensure proper planning and rational use of resources in urban green spaces.
